Reviews of Hotel 81 Selegie

John
I wanted to visit Gardens by the Bay, and chose Hotel 81 for its convenient location. I was pleasantly surprised by the convenient amenities offered, such as a grocery store and tour assistance. I also loved exploring the charming corner of eastern Singapore with its heritage shophouses and quaint stores and eateries.
Uncomfortable synthetic mattress, no space for luggage, no windows, cold AC, no room service. Rude staff.

The rooms at Hotel 81 Selegie are simply amazing! They have 24-hour room service, making it super easy to satisfy all your midnight cravings. And the air conditioning? It's a blessing! After a tiring day of sightseeing, you can enjoy a peaceful and comfortable night's sleep.
Personally, I found the private bathrooms to be a bit small. But hey, it's just my opinion.

Amazing Location: Situated in the heart of the vibrant Rochor district, this hotel is like a hidden gem amidst the charming heritage shophouses and quaint stores. It stands out with its striking blue building and white windows, adding a touch of uniqueness to the surroundings.
Small beds.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, as it was near the MRT station and a bus stop. It was also close to shopping centers, making it convenient for me to explore the city. The hotel facilities were great, with clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay.
Nothing, all great.

For me, Hotel 81 Selegie fulfilled my expectation, although, of course, since it's a budget hotel, you won't get many in-hotel facilities. I enjoy its location the most; really near Little India mrt station and about 5 minutes walking to Dhoby Ghout (at the other end of Orchard Road) or to Bras Basah mrt station. So, whether you want to use mrt or just walk, any choices are fine. The hotel staffs that served us were really helpful and friendly, too. My dad wanted to extend our stay at the hotel and the staffs were so accomodative to my dad's wish. The rooms were nice, cozy, and clean, so were the bathrooms. Cool ac, good tv channels, etc.
The hotel rooms were small (I booked 2 Standard Rooms; not 1 Family Room) and the only place where I could open my luggage was near the toilet door. If you bring backpack, there are still enough spaces to open your backpack though. And I don't know why, it seemed like the other room I booked had "more" space to open 2 luggages than mine.. :/ The hotel itself doesn't have a lobby where you could sit around for a while before you go inside your room, but if you don't make any appointments at the hotel, it's totally fine (the rooms = cozy). Lastly, they don't give you breakfast, but since it's near Little India-Orchard- Bras Basah, I'm sure you'll find varieties of meal outside the hotel (and nearby it).

Hotel 81 is a cost-effective option with a superb location. It's close to many main attractions and easily accessible by MRT or walking. The staff was friendly - allowing us to check-in early. The room was clean and the wifi worked well. It's great for a short stay or just for sleeping.
Totally recommend.

The hotel is conveniently located, with easy access to three MRT stations: Rochor, Tekka, and Little India. This makes it very convenient for exploring the city and getting around. It is also close to Tekka Market, where you can find a wide variety of food options. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are well-maintained, providing all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.
One downside is that the soundproofing is not very effective, as some guests have mentioned being able to hear noises from outside the room and down the hallway. However, this can be easily overlooked considering the overall value and convenience of the hotel.

The room was functional, spacious and complete with opened windows and bathroom, for instance. Everything was good, though a few employees were not that friendly. Plus they assisted with cab.

The room was big enough for my family 2 adults and 3 kids. We enjoyed the fast internet connection for the 6 nights we stayed. Had no problem getting a taxi. We had a nice stay.

We had a comfortable time. Excellent hotel, fairly clean, hospitable staff, location close to centre was STRATEGIC. Location: the venue was just off shopping mall, walking distance from metro and the center of Singapore. We dined out at Komala Vilas Restaurant, set within walking distance of the hotel.
Unfortunately Wi-Fi was very poor.

We explored the iconic Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands, taking epic selfies and enjoying the stunning city views. Then, we partied all night at Clarke Quay, dancing to awesome music and meeting cool people. Hotel location was perfect for our adventures!
Would have loved if the hotel had a rooftop bar or a night club. It would have been awesome to have a fun hangout spot within the hotel where we could meet other young party-goers like us and continue the fun after exploring the city.

The value for money at Hotel 81 was great, especially considering the convenient location and cozy rooms. The staff treated us with exceptional hospitality and made our stay enjoyable.
The morning meal could have been improved with a wider variety of options.

The room was clean and had all the basic amenities. Located in a very convenient area.
The staff were rude and not friendly at all, especially the lady who checked us in. The room was too compact and there was no space to put our luggage bags at all, not much room to turn around. I had a few bruises caused by knocking into corners of the dressing table and the door.
